Topic: Free software for quantum computation

Presentation

Abstract:

Free software movement has changed significantly our world. Based on deep philosophical principles and rooted in technical necessities transformed our societies. The incoming quantum computation revolution should also embrace principles of free software as a foundation for building our quantum information systems. Recently a couple of initiatives such as Quantum Open Source Foundation were initiated.

During the talk a short report from a recent meeting on quantum computing that took place at Fosdem 19; an incomplete review of free software projects related to quantum computing and quantum communication; and as an example of free software platform D-Wave ocean SDK and its applications will be presented.
