Temat: Natural quantum phenomena as motivation to work on quantum informatics

Prezentacja

Abstract:

During the presentation, it will be signaled, among others, a series of natural quantum phenomena that are constantly discovered or suspect to occur in nature. The appearance of these phenomena in the world around us confirms their practical role in the operation of nature forces and prompts us to try to use such phenomena in novel quantum computers, or more generally in quantum data processing of the future. Due to the ongoing difficulties in the construction of useful quantum computers, all kinds of simulators and emulators still play a large role.
The presentation will show the idea and preliminary work on the attempt to build a hardware quantum computer emulator based on a programmable FPGA integrated circuit. FPGA technology provides massive parallelism in information processing and therefore, to some extent, it may allow to maintain a linear time dependence of emulated quantum computations at the expense of exponential growth of used hardware resources. Finally, the exemplary results achieved in the physically constructed simple prototype of the emulator will be discussed. More details about the emulator can be found in[1].
